There was this Porsche owner insisting that our Silicone DoT5 Brake Fluid had given him a spongy pedal. We looked at the calipers as he depressed the pedal and they actually moved! We asked a few questions and before long it emerged that he had replaced the 'standard' cast iron calipers with new super lightweight alloy ones. In double quick time the alloys were removed and the standard cast iron ones were put back on. Hey Presto solved his brake fluid problem at a stroke!
Then there was the TR Owner who was adamant that our Silicone Brake Fluid was preventing him from getting a firm pedal. Strange, because our fluid is a DoT5 fluid and we've been supplying it since 1982. There are quite a few cars around the world running happily on it! We investigate further and discover very quickly that the front calipers have been put on the wrong sides. The right hand one was put on the left and so on. As a result the bleedscrews were in the wrong positions making the system effectively - impossible to bleed. Put the calipers on the right way round and 'Hey Presto' he solves his 'brake fluid problem' in a flash!
